... on top of Uluru!
Our diary entry dated 30.04.07:
Dear Diary,
Today, 30th destination AYERS ROCKS! OK!
This morning we woke up at 5:00 am ➔ pretty hard for everyone! Breakfast for 15 min and we left the camp at about 5:45 am. 15 min to go to the rock, it was dark and when we could only see the dark shape of the rock. We stayed on the site almost 1 hour to admire the sunrise and then we splited into two groups.
➔ (lazy ones) walk around the rock for about 2 hours 30!
➔ (determined ones) climb the rock!
(but in the Aboriginal culture, the rock is a spiritual site and we shouldn't climb it!)
So, we started the climb at 7:30 - 8:00 am:
Description of the climb: HARD, FUN, SCARY, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, HUGE, REWARDING, SPIRITUAL, MEMORABLE, UNFORGETTABLE, HOT, LONG, BUT AWESOME VIEW
(and for Dennis: PUTAIN, MERDE AND Lasse ♥ "Je t'aime mon amour')
After the walk, we had a rest and ate as usual: COOKIES! Then Aboriginal center and shops to buy some souvenirs.
(Carl is actually eating a sausage at 7:58pm FREAKY! UH?)
(It was actually Justus's sausage!)
So we come back on today, we came back to the camp for lunch, rice with chili corn carne with cheese, yummy!
FREE TIME FOR almost 3 hours 30. So Program: shopping center, walk, (Cassie and Eli went lost) and pool.
POOL: the girls were swimming quietly but all the guys arrived and jumped in to the pool -> results:
- Clemens broke his neck
- All girls have been wet
- An old woman called security and the guys had to stop.
During this time, Margot, Clémentine, Vanessa and me were doing aerobic in the pool and laps to loose weight! LOL good tom with you full of fun and photos, Lov ya girls!
We left the camp at 5:00 pm and we went to the other side of the rock to look at the sunset
➔ dinner with everybody
➔ heaps of photos
This day was just awesome with lots of memories.
Thank you all!
